Ms. Slocum has given masterclasses and coachings at the NYO2 Carnegie Hall Youth Orchestra, DePaul University, East Tennessee State University and the University of Wisconsin-Milwaukee. Ms. Slocum taught privately as an assistant to New York Philharmonic principal flutist Robert Langevin at the Orford Arts Center. She also served as a private teacher at the Manhattan School of Music (MSM) Summer Camp and was a teaching assistant at the Amateur Chamber Music Festival at MSM.  

Ms. Slocum's teaching emphasizes fundamentals, creative problem solving, ergonomically healthy body/instrument alignment, mental focus and a direct positive approach. She has given masterclasses in New York and Milwaukee and has presented interactive educational concerts for K-12 schools and senior centers in the Philadelphia and Milwaukee areas.
